Jason Zimmer

Acting Director of Care at Creedan Valley Care Community

“I joined the Creedan Valley team at the beginning of 2021 as a Registered Charge Nurse and recently took on the role of Acting Director of Care. I love my job, because here at Creedan Valley we treat each other like family. On my first day, I immediately felt welcome and it gave me a sense of belonging. Most of my previous experience was in a hospital setting, where patients seek acute care and leave. But it’s different here — we are one big family, and the care community is our home. This allows me to build strong and meaningful connections with the residents and their families. In my role, I strive to leverage my expertise to provide residents with the best experience every day.”

Claudia De Alba

Housekeeper at Glenmore Lodge Care Community

“I always take time to get to know each resident so they feel at ease when I come into their room to clean. I was told by one resident recently that they love the way I clean their room and another called me a sanitizing engineer. Its nice to hear positive feedback from them and it serves as a reminder of the role housekeepers play in making our residence feel like home. I’m so grateful that my role allows me to build upon these relationships and make a positive impact in residents’ lives!”

Parmjit Sidhu

Dietary Aide at Silverthorn Care Community

“As the Dietary Aide, I aim to provide the residents with the best experience possible and make Silverthorn feel like home. I make sure that the right meals, snacks and supplements are delivered to the right residents at the right time. With more than 140 residents, it’s a big responsibility, but I am grateful to have collaborative team members who support each other in the kitchen and on the floor. I take a lot of pride in my work, knowing it impacts residents’ quality of life. Even their morning coffee or tea can set the tone for their whole day.”
