What does community feel like? It’s winning your first gold medal, smiling with friends, and coming together for a good cause.
Five care communities in Toronto came together to form the Sienna Summer Games, an Olympic-style competition in support of Sienna for Seniors, a partnership between Sienna and United Way that supports local seniors in need.
Throughout the day, five residents from each community participated in events such as giant boggle, Nerf archery, ladder ball, mini putt, and bowling. They were awarded medals, and the winning community, Harmony Hills, brought home the trophy.
St. George Care Community, Harmony Hills Care Community, Fountain View Care Community, Rockcliffe Care Community, and Fieldstone Commons Care Community all participated in the event, which was held at Variety Village, and there are plans to invite additional communities next year.
