The room is filled with clapping, cheers, song, and laughter.
Seven Sienna long-term care communities came together for a day filled with soccer activities and team chants. The second annual Sienna Soccer Games opened with team cheers, which were all delivered with roaring enthusiasm. During the event, residents were paired with a Sienna employee to form a team of two. Each care community had five mini-teams, which competed for the gold against the other care communities in a series of soccer events. Kicking, throwing, and obstacle courses were among the activities.
The event signalled the end of a month-long fundraising campaign by all of the communities, which aimed to raise funds for Sienna for Seniors, a partnership with United Way that aids seniors in need in the local community.
Hawthorn Woods, Tullamore, Maple Grove, and Woodhall Park care communities in Brampton; Deerwood Creek Care Community in Etobicoke; Cheltenham Care Community in Toronto; and Woodbridge Vista Care Community in Woodbridge all participated in the event, which was a huge success, with many residents already looking forward to participating next year.
